Terms & Conditions
1. Ownership of Skip Bins
All skip bins supplied by Stride Skip Bins remain the property of Stride Skip Bins at all times.
The customer has no ownership of, or interest in, the skip bin beyond the agreed hire period.
2. Booking & Acceptance
By submitting a booking via our website, phone, message or other approved method, you agree to enter into a contract with Stride Skip Bins under these Terms & Conditions.
You must be 18 years or older to make a booking.
Stride Skip Bins reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.
3. Pricing
All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST.
Unless otherwise stated, pricing includes:
Delivery
Collection
6-day hire (example: Wednesday delivery – Tuesday collection)
- Once a booking is confirmed, the agreed price cannot be changed unless agreed to in writing.
- Special handling items, including mattresses, synthetic grass and carpet, incur additional charges where applicable.
Additional charges may apply for:
Prohibited or contaminated waste
Excess weight or overloading
Extended hire periods
Special handling items, including mattresses
Additional disposal or handling requirements
4. Payment Terms
Full payment is required prior to delivery.
Card details may be securely held until the hire period has been completed.
Any additional charges incurred during the hire may be processed after collection of the bin.
5. Access & Ground Conditions
The customer is responsible for ensuring:
Safe and clear access for delivery and collection.
The site is free from obstructions, including vehicles, structures and overhead cables.
The ground is stable and suitable to support the weight of the delivery truck and skip bin.
Stride Skip Bins is not liable for damage to:
Driveways
Kerbs
Paving or other surfaces
Lawns
Gardens
Reticulation
Structures
Fences
Other property
If a scheduled collection cannot be completed due to restricted access, unsafe conditions or unsuitable ground conditions, a Collection Rescheduling Fee may apply.
6. Bin Placement
Final placement of the skip bin is at the driver’s discretion and will be determined based on safety and accessibility.
Skip bins must not be moved once placed.
The bin must not create a hazard for pedestrians, vehicles or other road users.
Where a skip bin is placed on public land, the customer is responsible for obtaining any required council permits or approvals.
7. Hire Period
- Standard hire is for 6 days (example: Wednesday delivery – Tuesday collection).
- Delivery and collection take place during business hours.
Delivery
Deliveries are typically completed in the morning.
During busy periods, delivery may occur later in the day.
Exact delivery times are not guaranteed.
Collection
Collection may occur at any time on the scheduled pickup day.
Bins may be collected from early morning on the final day of hire.
Exact collection times are not guaranteed.
- The customer must ensure the skip bin is accessible and ready for collection on the scheduled collection day.
Collection Rescheduling Fee
A Collection Rescheduling Fee applies where:
- A driver attends the property for a scheduled collection but is unable to collect the skip bin due to restricted or obstructed access; or
- The customer requests to keep the skip bin or reschedule collection after the driver has arrived at the property.
Any additional hire charges will also apply where the skip bin remains on site beyond the original hire period.
Important Hire Period Information
The hire period is based on the allocated delivery and collection days, not the exact time the bin is delivered.
A bin delivered later in the day is still scheduled for collection on the agreed final collection day.
Early collection requests do not extend the hire period or reduce the hire cost.
Extended Hire
- Is available on a daily or weekly basis.
- Daily extensions are charged at the applicable daily rate for the bin size hired.
- Weekly extensions are charged at 50% of the original hire price per additional week.
- Requires a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.
- Is subject to availability.
8. Acceptable & Prohibited Waste
Acceptable Waste Types
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the waste type selected when booking accurately reflects the materials being placed in the skip bin.
Each waste category has specific requirements regarding what can and cannot be placed in the bin. These requirements are based on the disposal facilities used by Stride Skip Bins, as not all facilities accept every type of waste.
Available waste categories may include:
Green Waste
General Waste
Mixed Waste – Light
Mixed Waste – Heavy
Concrete & Brick Waste
Clean Fill – Soil, Sand & Dirt
Recyclable Waste
- Metal Waste
Prohibited Items
The following items must not be placed in a skip bin unless expressly approved by Stride Skip Bins:
Asbestos or hazardous materials
Hard fencing or similar materials
Liquids, including paints, oils and chemicals
Gas bottles or pressurised containers
Batteries
Tyres
Tree stumps or large trunks greater than 10 cm in diameter
Food waste
Liquid concrete
Medical waste
E-waste, including computers and televisions
Carpet, unless applicable conditions have been approved – additional charges apply.
Synthetic grass, unless applicable conditions have been approved – additional charges apply.
Stride Skip Bins reserves the right to:
Refuse collection of a contaminated or non-compliant bin.
Remove prohibited items at the customer’s cost.
Charge additional fees for contamination, excess weight, special handling or disposal.
Return the contents of the bin to the property or site and remove the skip bin where additional charges arising from incorrectly declared, prohibited or contaminated waste are not paid.
9. Weight Limits & Overloading
The customer is responsible for ensuring the skip bin is loaded safely and within applicable weight limits.
If a bin is overloaded or exceeds allowable weight limits:
Collection may be refused until the load has been rectified.
Additional charges may apply to make the load safe and compliant.
Additional disposal or excess-weight charges may apply.
Heavy materials, including bricks, rubble, sand and soil, must be discussed with Stride Skip Bins at the time of booking.
For transport safety and compliance:
Skip bins must only be loaded level with the top edge of the bin.
Waste must not protrude from or be piled above the top edge.
Overfilled bins may not be transported until the load has been made safe.
10. Damage, Loss & Fire
The customer is responsible for the skip bin during the hire period and may be charged for damage caused while the bin is in their care, excluding fair wear and tear.
Burning or incinerating materials inside the skip bin is strictly prohibited.
Any damage caused by fire, burning or heat will be charged to the customer.
11. Delivery, Collection & Delays
Stride Skip Bins will make reasonable efforts to meet scheduled delivery and collection days.
However, delivery and collection times are not guaranteed and may vary depending on daily run schedules and operating conditions.
Stride Skip Bins is not liable for delays caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control, including:
Traffic conditions
Weather
Mechanical issues
High-demand periods
Unsafe site or access conditions
Other unforeseen operational circumstances
Stride Skip Bins reserves the right to:
Deliver or collect a skip bin at any time during the scheduled day.
Delay or reschedule delivery or collection where conditions are considered unsafe or impractical.
12. Site Photos & Records
Stride Skip Bins may take photographs at the time of delivery and/or collection for operational and record-keeping purposes.
Photographs may be used to:
Confirm skip bin placement.
Record the condition of the site.
Record the condition or contents of the skip bin.
Assist in resolving disputes regarding access, placement, damage, overloading or site conditions.
13. Cancellations & Changes
Booking changes or cancellations require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.
Changes made within 48 hours of the scheduled service may incur a $50 administration fee.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled service may incur a $50 cancellation fee.
If Stride Skip Bins cancels a booking, the customer will receive a full refund for the affected service.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Stride Skip Bins’ liability in relation to the service is limited to the value of the service provided.
Stride Skip Bins is not liable for:
Indirect or consequential loss.
Loss of income, revenue or opportunity.
Damage arising from the customer’s use, loading or placement of the skip bin.
Damage resulting from circumstances outside Stride Skip Bins’ reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Australian law.
15. Risk & Customer Responsibility
The customer assumes responsibility for the skip bin and its contents throughout the hire period.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that:
The bin is used safely and appropriately.
Only permitted waste is placed in the bin.
The bin is not overloaded.
Unauthorised persons do not misuse the bin where reasonably preventable.
All additional fees resulting from the customer’s use of the bin are paid.
