Terms & Conditions
1. Ownership of Skip Bins
- All skip bins supplied by Stride Skip Bins remain the property of Stride Skip Bins at all times.
- The customer has no ownership or interest in the bin beyond the agreed hire period.
2. Booking & Acceptance
By submitting a booking (via website, phone, or message), you agree to enter into a contract with Stride Skip Bins under these Terms & Conditions.
- You must be 18 years or older to make a booking.
- Stride Skip Bins reserves the right to decline any booking at its discretion.
3. Pricing
- All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST
- Pricing includes delivery, collection, and a standard 7-day hire
- Once a booking is confirmed, pricing cannot be changed unless agreed in writing
Additional charges may apply for:
- Prohibited or contaminated waste
- Excess weight (see Clause 9)
- Extended hire
- Special handling items (e.g. mattresses)
4. Payment Terms
- Full payment is required prior to delivery
- A 2% surcharge applies to credit card payments
- Card details may be securely held until the hire is completed
- Any additional charges will be processed after collection
5. Access & Ground Conditions
The customer is responsible for ensuring:
- Safe and clear access for delivery and collection
- No obstructions (including vehicles, structures, or overhead cables)
- The ground is stable and suitable to support the weight of the truck and bin
Stride Skip Bins is not liable for any damage to:
- Driveways, kerbs, paving or surfaces
- Lawns, gardens or reticulation
- Structures, fences or property
If delivery or collection cannot be completed due to unsuitable access or site conditions, a call-out fee may apply.
6. Bin Placement
- Final placement of the bin is at the driver’s discretion based on safety
- Bins must not be moved once placed
- The bin must not pose a hazard to pedestrians or road users
- If placing a bin on public land, the customer is responsible for obtaining any required council permits
7. Hire Period
- Standard hire is 7 days, calculated by day, not a full 7 x 24-hour period
(example: Tuesday delivery to Monday collection). - Delivery and collection occur within business hours.
Delivery:
- Typically completed in the morning
- During busy periods, delivery may occur later in the day
Collection:
- May occur at any time on the scheduled pickup day
- Bins may be collected from early morning on the final day of hire
Important:
- The hire period is based on allocated delivery and collection days, not the exact time of delivery
- A bin delivered later in the day is still scheduled for collection on the agreed final day
- Early collection requests do not extend the hire period or reduce the hire cost
Extended Hire:
- Available at 50% of the original hire price per additional week
- Requires a minimum of 48 hours notice
- Subject to availability
8. Acceptable & Prohibited Waste
Accepted waste (general guide):
- General household waste
- Timber and green waste
- Bricks, sand and rubble
- Paper, cardboard and plastics
- Furniture and steel
Additional charges:
- Mattresses: $80 per item
Prohibited items:
- Asbestos or hazardous materials
- Liquids (including paints, oils, chemicals)
- Gas bottles or pressurised containers
- Batteries
- Tyres
- Tree stumps or large trunks
- Food waste
- Liquid concrete
Stride Skip Bins reserves the right to:
- Refuse collection
- Remove prohibited items at the customer’s cost
- Charge additional fees for contamination or excess weight
9. Weight Limits & Overloading
- Each bin type has a maximum weight limit
- Heavy materials (e.g. bricks, sand, soil) must be discussed at time of booking
- Bins must not be filled above the top rim
If a bin is overloaded or exceeds weight limits:
- Collection may be refused until rectified, or
- Additional charges will apply to make the load safe and compliant
10. Damage, Loss & Fire
- The customer is responsible for any damage to the bin during the hire period (excluding fair wear and tear)
- No burning or incineration of materials is permitted
- Any fire-related damage will be charged to the customer
11. Delivery, Collection & Delays
Stride Skip Bins will make every effort to meet scheduled delivery and collection days.
However:
- Delivery and collection times are not guaranteed and will vary depending on daily run schedules
Stride Skip Bins is not liable for delays caused by factors outside our control, including:
- Traffic conditions
- Weather
- Mechanical issues
- High demand periods
Stride Skip Bins reserves the right to:
- Deliver or collect the skip bin at any time within the scheduled day
- Delay or reschedule services if conditions are deemed unsafe
12. Site Photos & Records
Photos may be taken at the time of delivery and/or collection for record-keeping purposes.
These may be used to:
- Confirm bin placement
- Record site condition
- Assist in resolving disputes regarding damage or access
13. Cancellations & Changes
- Changes or cancellations require a minimum of 48 hours notice
- Changes within 48 hours may incur a $50 administration fee
- Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a $50 cancellation fee
- If Stride Skip Bins cancels a booking, a full refund will be provided.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law:
- Liability is limited to the value of the service provided
- Stride Skip Bins is not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential loss,
- Loss of income or opportunity, or
- Damage arising from use of the bin
15. Risk
The customer assumes full responsibility for the skip bin and its contents during the hire period.
